A couple of things were at work here. One is that, due to our schedules we usually each get to check the e-mail inbox once every two or three days, something like that. Since it takes two mods' stamps to approve an app, some apps end up waiting in the inbox for a few days for two mods to get to them, while others are stamped within a few hours.
With the rise in character limit we knew we'd be getting a lot of apps at once so we were watching the inbox more closely the day of. Regarding the apps in question, there were disputes among the mods about whether to ask for revisions, which we later decided against and passed them through--that was why they were delayed. If there was favoritism present in this situation it was unintentional.
One thing we do know is that we take too long on some apps, particularly when questions about revisions arise. We're sorry about that and we're trying to be more on top of these situations.
Thanks for your feedback!
